O Dr. Chawkat Moucarry nasceu na cidade de Aleppo (Síria) e cresceu numa família cristã. Viveu em Paris durante 20 anos. Em 1994 ele se mudou para a Inglaterra, onde ensinou ‘Estudos Islâmicos e do Oriente Médio’ no ‘All Nations Christian College’. Em 2006 uniu-se à organização ‘Visão Mundial Internacional’, uma organização cristã de ajuda humanitária, onde exerceu a função de Diretor de Relações Inter-religiosas. É fluente em árabe (que é sua língua materna), francês e inglês. Tem Mestrado em Teologia Cristã e Ph.D. em Estudos Islâmicos pela Universidade de Sorbonne (Paris). Escreveu vários artigos e livros, incluindo ‘The Prophet and the Messiah – An Arab Christian’s Perspective on Islam and Christianity’ (IVP, 2001); ‘The Search for Forgiveness: Pardon and Punishment in Islam and Christianity’ (IVP, 2004) e ’Two Prayers for Today: the Lord’s Prayer and the Fatiha’ (CSS Books, 2007). É casado e sua esposa é da Dinamarca. Atualamente vivem em Paris e têm quatro filhos.
